This strip works on a couple of levels since I am Billy’s writer, I am his god. Since we have no real god, here in the real world, we get to write our own stories–mostly. Sure, we don’t have control over everything, but we have control over how we react to what life throws at us. So, why not take responsibility and stop blaming some god? Step up to the plate and be a human.

Yep, continuing the Cat Heaven theme for this week’s new Ballpoint Adventures” strip. Guess I just think it’s more than a little absurd to talk about heaven for any animals, be them humans or cats.
For a guy who is supposed to be infallible it sure is easy to catch him in a contradiction.
Ever since I was a kid, I felt that, if there really was a God, he was a pretty insecure dude to need us all praising him all the time. I mean, really? Your penis is that small, God? ;)
And don’t use that stupid “He works in mysterious ways” crap. The Earth is acting pretty screwy, and kinda always has. Earthquakes, famines, floods, disease, etc, seems like a pretty nonsensical way to run an existence. It almost looks like it’s an accident that we even survived this long… if I didn’t know better…. OH WAIT, I DO. Yes, life is an accident–an amazing accident and that’s why we should cherish it.
“Ballpoint Adventures” takes on the idea of God, once again in this strip (and the several that followed it back in 2006), hope, if you’re a person of faith, that you can handle it!
Tee-hee. I love how some folks believe they have to do God’s work FOR God. You’d think God, of all entities, would be able to fight his own battles. What I find the most perplexing about most faiths is that they think they can tell others how to be. If that’s true, why can’t I tell them how to be? So, shouldn’t we all just shut up about how each other should live? (Aside from that whole “believing God will protect us from global warming” thing–that’s a crock.)
See, this is the shit that makes me so mad. Santorum is letting his faith in a magical being decide how to be a leader. This makes me crazy with anger because I base my life decisions, not on a mythical being but on facts. Since there are no facts proving God’s existence, I look at facts that do exist, like how our climate is changing and how protecting the environment is good because we LIVE in it. FUCK. IDIOT.
Sheesh–this is a riot! I love it when Believers accuse other faiths of being fake. My eyeballs hurt from all the rolling they do at crap like this. But really, I’m beyond eye-rolling. This shit has kinda gotten me mad. Just watch for the next few Ballpoint strips to see what I mean.
