Obama (O-bomb-a?) OKs the sale of bunker-buster bombs to Israel #SIGH #WTFObama?

From a 9/23/11 article at Ynetnews.com:

'Obama sold special bombs to Israel'
New report claims US secretly approved transfer of 'bunker buster' bombs that could be used in attack against Iran just months after Barack Obama took office, even though Bush administration had previously blocked deal

Well, at least we're not going to war against Iran ourselves.  And I suppose using bunker-busters against Iran is better than using them against Palestinians.  Regardless, I'm getting tired of this whole "war" thing.  Remember the 90s?  There was almost no war that we were directly involved in.  Our economy was booming and the worst thing going on was Monicagate.  Seems like war doesn't always help the economy.  Maybe, once again, we should give peace a chance? ;)

Still, I'll never understand the whole Israel thing. I'm not against the country existing, but I'm just completely confused at how it's policy of occupation and continuous need for support from the US is acceptable to so many.  I mean, how long have they been a country?  Can they not stand on their own by now? And what the hell are they doing with Palestine? What's their goal?

They're OK with killing men and boys, maybe the Israeli government won't harm non-violent female Palestinian protesters?

Website666.com is supposed to be about challenging how things are done, or how we think about things. Along those lines I present to you the below excerpt from UnderpaidGenius.com which includes a suggestion about how the Palestinians should deal with all of their anti-occupation behavior—non-violently and with chicks:

underpaidgenius:

Kristof’s columns often feel too much like a travelogue, where writes about going somewhere and doing good, and gee, golly, we should really think hard about some distant problem. He seems to lack an angry bone.

But this piece — about non-violent civil disobedience in Palestine (see other posts) — is dead on.

Nicholas Kristof,  Waiting for Gandhi on the West Bank

But imagine if Palestinians stopped the rock-throwing and put female pacifists in the lead. What if 1,000 women sat down peacefully on a road to block access to an illegal Jewish settlement built on Palestinian farmland? What if the women allowed themselves to be tear-gassed, beaten and arrested without a single rock being thrown? Those images would be on televisions around the world — particularly if hundreds more women marched in to replace those hauled away.

“This is what Israel is most afraid of,” said Dr. Mustafa Barghouthi, a prominent Palestinian who is calling for a nonviolent mass movement. He says Palestinians need to create their own version of Gandhi’s famous 1930 salt march.

This would be fricken BRILLIANT.  Sure, Rachel Corrie got run over by an Israeli bulldozer and I’m sure a few more women would be killed in the process of non-violently protesting Israel’s occupation of their land, but nothing else is making Israel back the hell up with their plans for the occupied territory.  They kill men and boys, old men in wheelchairs (with a missile!) and now, they’d be killing women.

If that doesn’t work, I don’t know what will.

Personally, I don’t think anything will work because you can’t reason with a religious person and that’s what Israel is all about—it’s the “Jewish State” which has nothing to do with ethnicity—you choose to be a Jew who believes the creator of the universe put land aside ONLY FOR YOU.

There’s no reasoning with that kind of denial of the basic, logical evidence in front of you—in other words, they can do what ever they want to do because they can just say God told them it was OK and because we have this, frankly, problematic urge to respect other people’s beliefs, we have to let them get away with it.

So, that said, let’s hope killing women is something they’ll not want to do in the interest of “defending Israel.”

We can hope…
