New Hampshire Recount Underway

by ThePete 2:10 pm 2008-01-16

Check it out–Dennis Kucinich is once again proving he’s willing to do his job and is doing something about the usual problems we’ve been seeing in elections over the past 7 years.

Unlike Gore, Kerry and Obama, despite Kucinich losing and having virtually no shot at winning even after a recount, Kucinich is asking for a recount of the New Hampsire primary votes. Hillary only won by something like 2 percent, so the results could change, in theory.

The point here is that something is being done about these irregularities (unlike in 2000, 2004 and 2006). Now the question is will they be covered by the media?

EDIT: Forgot to link to the article I screencapped above: wbztv.com/racenh/NH.Primary.Recount.2.630861.html

Also, in one of the replies to this post on Utterz.com, Utterer PixelFish posts a link to an arstechnica.com post that also covers this story:

Glad to see SOME people in the media are covering this story.

On a slight tangent, it turns out that Kucinich was blocked by NBC and the Superior Court of Nevada from taking part in the debate in Las Vegas last night. DemocracyNow.org has more including a redo of the debate running clips from it allowing Kucinich to reply. Check it out here:

Sorry, another edit–I think it was the SCOTUS that ruled Kucinich could be barred from the debate–not the Nevada Superior Court.
